BEACHES
The local beach in Kalkan is situated next to the harbour and has recently been extended.
Kaputas beach is a lovely sandy beach situated at the foot of a ravine. You can take a Dolmus (local bus) from Kalkan centre, which takes 10 mins.
Patara beach is a 20-minute dolmus ride away but definitely worth it. It has 12 miles of golden sand, it has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. Patara is home to protected turtles and ancient ruins. If you come by car the entrance fee is approximately £1.50, but you can make repeat visits for a week. If you journey by dolmus it’s completely free.
Beach Clubs
There are a few beach clubs in Kalkan. They are ‘rock gardens’ cut into the hillside offering sunbathing, swimming, watersports and restaurant facilities. The Kalkan Yacht club is by the harbour, whilst Lykia and Mahal are a water taxi ride away, and Yali beach club is situated below the Kalkan Regency.
